Summary
[edit]Santiago Matamoros (St. James the Moorslayer: Knight on horseback in helmet, on an andas; sword raised in right hand; left hand holds reins.)
Figure: Wood, gesso, and paint; black boots added; eyes seem too dull to be glass. Textile clothing: red velvet cape, yellow shirt, blue breeches in polyester brocade. Woven into the brocade of the pants are the words Pater, Filius, Spiritus Sanctus and the symbols of the Trinity. About 4' (120 cm.) excluding horse.
Horse: Painted wood with braided rope harness, leather saddle, metal stirrups, and real hair for forelock and tail.
Andas: Trimmed in yellow with four green turned legs. Appears to be of a different maker than the statue. Painted flower and leaf design of blue on a red background.
