Title
Cu alloy clasp
Description
English: Cast copper alloy book clasp of late Medieval to Post-Medieval date. A copper alloy book clasp. It is rectangular in plan and is incomplete. The mount is curved slightly, particularly towards the top end. At the top end is a curved piece which was probably the attachment piece but which has broken. The lower edge is serrated. There is some decoration made by punching or stamping on the front face. It consists of two circles, one in the middle and the other at the serrated end so that only a semi-circle is visible. Each circle has two concentric circles inside.
