English: Crug Cilshafe across fields The hillock on the skyline is Crug Cilshafe which rises behind a cluster of four farms all bearing the name Cilshafe (more properly rendered Cilsiafe).
The derivation of the name is unclear but 'cil' means a sheltered spot or quiet haven. Sheep grazing peacefully on a fine January afternoon after much rain. |
