| Description |
English: Crowden Head. Looking southeast. This remote spot in the middle of the Kinder Scout plateau takes some getting to; I chose a frosty day when the wet peat had an icy crust, but still got mucky. The old route of the Pennine Way cuts across the southwestern corner of the square, and the path along the northern edge of Kinder Scout just clips the northeastern corner, but this trackless waste riddled with peat groughs is more representative of the whole square. The boundaries of the large parishes of Hayfield, Edale and Hope Woodlands meet at this point and the view is much the same in all directions. |
