Alexander Pantages founded a chain of vaudeville and movie theaters that eventually stretched from Vancouver, British Columbia to Newark, New Jersey and Mobile, Alabama. One of his early vaudeville theaters was at the corner of Second Avenue and Seneca Street in Seattle.
