Gradually the height growsless, until it is reduced, at the end of 600feet, enough to admit of an embankmentbeing raised to meet it. On, over the em-bankment, which curves around ^ to theleft, and now we are on the solid hill-side,and running along opposite the road bywhich we passed up the valley. We nowhave our last and best look at the boldbluff. The best view of this noted place is ob-tained when going east, or from the riverbelow.
