| Description |
Deutsch: Das am Ostrand der Ringmauer vorhandene Gebäude wird als "Gelbes Haus" bezeichnet und wird heute museal genutzt. In diesem Bereich waren ursprünglich Verwaltungs-, Wirtschafts- und Nebengebäude an die Ringmauer angefügt. Als Amtssitz war auf der Creuzburg über 700 Jahre ein Verwaltungsapparat mit entsprechenden Raumbedarf vorhanden. Die Burgmannen - der sogenannte Dienstadel - lebte unterhalb der Burg in befestigten Höfen innerhalb der Stadtmauer. Mehrere dieser wehrhaften Gebäude blieben in der Altstadt in Teilen erhalten: der Steinhof, das Kammergut und Reste vom Harstallhof sowie der südlich vom Alten Brauhaus befindliche Bereich des Buttlarschen Hofes. |
