| Description |
English: (1 in a multiple picture set) It is hard to get a picture of many of Yellowstone's thermal features becuase they are below the surface and the ground is flat around them. This one was interesting to watch. When you approached it at first, it was just a still pool of water, giving off hot vapor. Then as some minutes went buy, you could see bubbles arising from the center, just as you would see watching a pot of heating water. The bubbles became larger and more frequent, until the center of the pool went into a full boil as you see here. After about ten minutes it slowed down and returned to its calm state. It was as if someone below was turning the stove knob up and back down below us.. |
