Description
Italiano: Un vaso a figure rosse racconta il mito di Bellerofonte.

L’ impavido eroe impugna una lancia e si accinge a colpire con vigore la Chimera, creatura mostruosa che sputa fiamme, con la testa di leone, il corpo di capra e la coda di serpente.

Accanto sulla destra c’è Poseidone che cavalca un cavallo marino e punta il tridente verso Pegaso, il cavallo alato.

Alle spalle del dio un delfino, simbolo delle acque. Mentre sulla sinistra una Nike alata e coronata, simbolo della vittoria.

E ancora: un Sileno barbato con una benda sul capo e una fiaccola in mano. Sono le scene, ancora ben visibili e distinguibili, del mito di Bellerofonte dipinte sullo splendido cratere a calice in ceramica a decorazione geometrica, a figure rosse e a vernice nera, risalente al primo quarto del IV secolo a.C. e attribuibile alla cerchia del Pittore di Tarporley.
