Polski: Zdjęcie przedstawia efekty kilkumiesięcznego eksperymentu polegającego na wsadzeniu i ukorzenieniu pędu grubosza jajowatego w sposób odwrotny, czyli górą pędu do podłoża ogrodniczego. Eksperyment miał sprawdzić czy tak wsadzona roślina się ukorzeni. Jak widać na zdjęciu roślina się ukorzeniła i wypuściła nowe dorodne pędy. Roślina wypuściła również pędy boczne z pędu pierwotnego. Jak widać na zdjęciu ich wzrost jest upośledzony, co wynika najprawdopodobniej z nieprawidłowej polaryzacji wiązek ksylemu, a transport substancji odżywczych odbywa się mniej wydajną drogą.
English: The photo shows the results of an experiment that lasted several months. The experiment involved inserting and rooting the shoot of a jade plant in a reverse manner, by inserting the shoot into the horticultural medium in a upside-down position. The goal was to see if the plant would root. As the photo shows, the plant did root and produced new, healthy shoots. However, it also produced side shoots from the original shoot, which appear to be impaired in growth. This is likely due to the abnormal polarity of the xylem bundles, resulting in less efficient nutrient transport. |
