Summary

[edit]
Description It's NOT a giant mosquito! Just a crane fly, which is harmless to people. Their larvae live in watery environments and will EAT mosquito larvae, so in some ways these long legged flies are beneficial. Some, like the European crane fly, can be pests of turfgrass.
