Summary
[edit]DescriptionCranberry Rough - geograph.org.uk - 1019932.jpg |
English: Cranberry Rough The site of a silted up lake - still present in Tudor times but gone by 1737. Since then attempts have been made to drain it for agricultural land but it has been abandoned since 1920 and has reverted to damp woodland. The nine metres of peat deposits provide a record of past pollen and hence vegetation in the area. |
