Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Craig yr Undeb The Union Rock. It was here that the North Wales Quarrymen's Union was formed in 1874. The quarry owners had refused permission for the men to meet not only at their place of work but also anywhere on their estates, which covered practically the whole district. For some reason, however, Lord Newborough of Parc Glynllifon SH4555 gave their leaders permission to hold secret talks on this rock. Ever since it has been known as Craig yr Undeb. In 1987, a plaque was unveiled to remember the event by Jack Jones, the leader of the T&GW Union, to which the NWQU had later become affiliated.
