viii COX SEED AND PLANT CO., SAN TRANCISCO. GLADIOLUS. Bur bank's New California Strain. The New California Strain have extremely bold flowers—often five inches across a single bloom—of great substance, clustered on stiff, compact, low growing spikes, and will endure the fiercest sun and wind for days without injury. In producing this new strain, a million or more of seedlings have been raised, and a careful selection carried on for twelve years.

The flowers of this remarkable freak are closely packed all around the spike like a Hyacinth, and are often rouble, having from 10 to 16 petals each; light cherry-rose, striped lilac- orimson. A single bulb produces from 3to5 enormous spikes, Very beautiful and strikingly distinct, strong blooming bulbs, each, $1.00; per dozen, $10.00. Mania Itosa. One of the best of the new dwarfs, particularly attractive Bower; dark flesh pink with a salmon sheen, streaked with purplish-crimson and sometimes with black; edges of petals charmingly tipped white. Multiplies rapidly. Strong blooming bulbs, each, $i.nn; per dozen, $10.00. The Complete Set of 0 Varieties, one bulb each, for $8.00. alifornia. Mariposa. Very attractive large open flower of greal sub- stance, purest snow "white striped and Baked with I berry -crim- son and sometimes \ arying from almost pure White to cherry-red. Strong blooming bulbs, each, 50c.; per dozen, $.MHi. Mil ant a. Uneoualcd for abundance of flowers which are white flaked and shaded carmine-rose: flowers closely set on the spike; multiplies with astonishing rapidity. Hulbs, each, 25c.; doz., $2, YolO. Pure rich deep crimson. Hulbs, each, 50c.; doz., $5.00- Cisco. Clear rose-pink; with salmon tint. Hulbs, each, 25c.; per dozen, $2.00. Seed of the New California Strain, mixed, 25c. per pkt.
