| Description |
English: A notice at the bus stop at the Red Jet terminal, Fountain Quay, Cowes, Isle of Wight, commonly known as Cowes Pontoon. Usually, this bus stop is served by Southern Vectis route 1 up to every 6 minutes. However, this photograph was taken on 3 September 2009, which, as the notice shows, a strike by Southern Vectis bus drivers had affected services. Route 1 was curtailed to the Co-op in Cowes, meaning that double deckers could be used, and the mainland bus drivers brought over to cover didn't have to make the tight turn onto the Pontoon. The notice wasn't very prominent, and in fact I had to tell some waiting passengers, who were unaware, that they'd have to go to the Co-op. |
