  • Significance: Findley Academy carries elements of the Beaux Arts style with additional Classical Revival details, evident throughout the exterior and interior. These details reflect the story of a city and its residents. The signature details and construction materials that define Findley School exemplify Akron's formation and growth as a preeminent American industrial city. These ideals encompass all that was part of a community and its culture... The educational ideals of Findley School were directly related to the city's advancement. The curriculum practiced at the Findley School exemplified the state of the art in manufacturing but also in culture and thought with innovative education plans for schools and churches that would sweep the country as the Akron Standard for Public Schools and the Akron Plan for Church Schools.
