| Description |
English: Built in the 19th and 20th Centuries, these buildings demonstrate the architectural variety and evolution of the Courthouse square in Sidney, with the oldest building being a front gable house that has had a one-story addition with a retail shopfront added to the front, a wood-frame one-story building with a bracketed cornice, which is the second-oldest building, an early 20th Century with a red wire brick exterior, first floor retail shopfronts with storefront windows with stained glass transoms, and second story triple windows with transoms. The newest building, a modernist bank, was built in 1976, and has a bunker-like appearance with a concrete and rusticated stone exterior. The buildings are mostly contributing structure in the Sidney Courthouse Square Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, with the exception of the bank built in 1976. |
