These requirementsordinarily include: graduating from an accredited college of phar-macy, passing an examination given by a State Board of Phar-macy, and completing an internship or apprenticeship. The internship is a period of supervised practical experiencein a preceptor pharmacy. This is generally satisfied during thecooperative work periods commencing at the end of the studentssecond academic year. During the periods of full-time employ-ment, the salary received enables the student to pay a substantialpart of his educational expenses.
