Français : Écrouissage sur un essai de traction simple :
  1. Étirage de l'éprouvette au-delà de la limite d'élasticité Re (mais en deçà de la résistance à la traction Rm).
  2. Suppression de l'effort, retrait élastique.
  3. Étirage de l'éprouvette, la nouvelle limite d'élasticité est Re1.
English: Work hardening on a tensile test:
  1. Extension of the sample, beyond the yield stress Re (but below the ultimate stress Rm).
  2. The force is suppressed, the sample retracts elastically.
  3. Extension of the sample, the new yield stress is Re1.
