Description
English: Countryliner DP3 (RL51 CXD), a Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer MPD, at the end of Mount Hermon Road, Woking, Surrey, waiting to turn left into Guildford Road while on route 81. Route 81 usually runs to and from Woking via Mount Hermon Road, Montgomery Road, York Road and Guildford Road. However, due to road works to replace a gas main in Guildford Road, the end of York Road had been blocked off, as seen here: File:Woking Guildford Road gas roadworks September 2009 2.JPG. Route 81 therefore had to run along Mount Hermon Road and turn straight into Guildford Road, and miss out the bus stops it would usually serve in York Road. The diversion ran in both directions. A temporary stop was put up in Montgomery Road, although this was mainly for route 35 which was also diverted. I do not think the 81s were double running Montgomery Road in order to serve the temporary stop, though I don't know for sure.
