Summary
[edit]DescriptionCounter-Seal AmauryVI DeMontfort Died1241 ConstableOfFrance.svg | Counter-seal of Amaury VI de Montfort (d.1241), Constable of France, based on drawing by Roger de Gaignières (d.1715), Bibliothèque nationale de France, Bouchot, 101. A counter-seal is a smaller (often more personal) seal impressed into the back of another[1]. This is attached by a cord to a larger equestrian seal. Legend: VERITAS ("truth"). The heraldic banner of de Montfort (Per pale indented gules and argent) is shown in the centre between two fleurs-de-lys. |
