Deutsch: Auf Blockrandbebauung ausgerichtetes Eckgebäude in Cottbus, August-Bebel-Straße 87, 1904/05; Der Entwurf für die Stuckaturen vom Bildhauer und Stuckateur Walter Adler. Fassade durch mehrere Erker und Zwerchgiebel untergliedert. Die Fensterformate variierend. Wandflächen durch Gesimse, wechselnde Putzstrukturen und Dekorfelder akzentuiert. Der filigrane, flächige Putzdekor mit typischen Gestaltungsmustern des frühen, ornamentalen Jugendstils: Stilisierte, teils direkt am Gebäude ausgeformte Ornamentik. Fließende Übergänge zwischen figürlichen Motiven und den bandartigen, geschweiften Ornamentformen. Aufwendig gestaltete Jugendstilarchitektur. Eines der wenigen Gebäude in der westlichen Stadterweiterung, wo der Urheber der teils vor Ort handwerklich ausgefertigten Stuckarbeiten bekannt ist. In Verbindung mit dem gegenüberliegenden Gebäude August-Bebel-Straße 11 von städtebaulicher Bedeutung als architektonische Rahmung der Straßenmündung zum Schillerplatz; Kulturdenkmal
English: Perimeter building destined for corner development in Cottbus, August-Bebel-Straße 87, 1904/05; design for the stucco work by the sculptor and plasterer Walter Adler. Facade divided by several oriels and wall dormers. The window formats varying. Wall surfaces accentuated by cornices, changing plaster structures and decor fields. The filigree, planar plaster decoration with typical design patterns of the early, ornamental Art Nouveau: Stylized ornamentation, partly formed directly on the building. Flowing transitions between figurative motifs and the band-like curly ornamental forms. Elaborately designed Art Nouveau architecture. One of the few buildings in the western city extension, where the originator of the partly locally crafted stucco work is known. In conjunction with the opposite building August-Bebel-Straße 11 of urban development importance as an architectural framing of the road estuary to Schillerplatz; cultural heritage monument |
