Summary
[edit]DescriptionCortinarius thiersii Ammirati & A.H. Smith 623298.jpg |
Cortinarius thiersii Ammirati & A.H. Smith Image location: Mount Rainier National Park, Washington, USA 3100’ elevation. The substrate seemed weird for a Cort, but the group was possibly growing THROUGH the rotten conifer log. Pseudotsuga, Tsuga and Pinus nearby. Reaction to 360nm UV. Recognized by sight: This species appears in the spring at high elevation. C. clandestinus appears in the fall, in my experience.
