Español: Corrosión por exfoliación en una pieza de aluminio. La pieza mide unos 14 mm de ancho. La corrosión por exfoliación es un tipo de corrosión intergranular que avanza a lo largo de los planos de cristalización, lo que da lugar a la separación del material con un aspecto de capas. La parte izquierda de la pieza aparece desenfocada en la imagen, porque la pieza se curva en forma de L (como se puede comprobar por su sombra) unos 2 cm y por tanto se aleja demasiado del plano focal. English: Exfoliation corrosion in a piece of aluminium. The piece's width is around 14 mm. Exfoliation corrosion is a type of intergranular corrosion which spreads along the crystallization surfaces, which causes the material to split in the appearance of layers. The left part of the piece is out of focus on this image because it bends in the shape of an L (as one can deduct from its shadow as well) about 2 cm and therefore goes well out of the focal plane. |
