Summary

[edit]
Description Road salt also causes corroded bearing conditions; designs need fewer spans and to eliminate most bearing surfaces. The new bridge design for the FHWA, Highways for LIFE project with Vtrans to replace the functionally obsolete two lane rural bridge used innovative technology for a highly durable, integral abutment bridge with a bare high performance concrete (HPC) deck reinforced with solid stainless steel, and topped with a curbless, deck rail system to avoid maintenance issues.
