Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The coronation throne commemorates the historical event of the crowning ceremony of Phuntsog as the first Chogyal of Sikkim in 1642. The rectangular stone platform facing East has four seats. The highest of the four seats at the center was meant for Lhama Latsun Chempo while the seat at his right was meant for Phuntsog. The other two seats were meant for two other head lamas who have come from Western and Southern Sikkim. Thus with Phuntsog Namgyal as the first ruler, the Namgyal dynasty started from this place who ruled Sikkim from 1642 to 1975.
