Title
Core
Description
English: A flint core. A single platform bladelet core of irregular shape, but tending towards conical. Made from a piece of mid grey mottled nodule flint with a low gloss patina. There is some thick, off-white cortex remaining at the pointed base. The odd shape is probably due to the presence at one side of an irregular void which prevented this side from being worked further. The rest of the "conical" surface is covered in multiple converging bladelet removal scars. The flakes have been removed from a single platform. The edges of the core are damaged, possibly from re-use as a scraper. There are areas of iron staining.
