Description
English: a specimen of Cordulegaster heros. I found it in June, 2006, near Miramare's park in Trieste. In the same year some academics announced that have found a population of this species in a little stream in Trieste, for the first time in Italy. This species is the largest dragonfly in Europe, females having a wingspan up to 115 mm and a body length up to 89 mm.

Italiano: esemplare di Cordulegaster heros. L'ho trovata personalmente nel giugno del 2006, presso il parco di Miramare di Trieste. Nello stesso anno alcuni ricercatori hanno trovato una popolazione di questa specie in un torrente a Trieste, per la prima volta in Italia. Si tratta della più grande libellula d'Europa, con la femmina che raggiunge un'apertura alare di 115 mm e una lunghezza di 89 mm.
