A coral stone adopted for interior deco design in Lamu

English: Coral stones are an upstart trend that has been around for the last century. Coral taken from land spaces where the ocean has long receded from is picked and used for interior deco. Its beautiful design and natural appeal gives it an organic aesthetic that enhances the feel of the Swahili home. The coral rock does not house any form of marine diversity as it had already died and been abandoned due to fall back of ocean water from where the coral structure is located
Kiswahili: Mawe ya matumbawe ni mwenendo wa mwanzo ambao umekuwepo kwa karne iliyopita. Matumbawe yaliyochukuliwa kutoka ardhini ambako bahari imepungua kwa muda mrefu, huchunwa na kutumika kwa mapambo ya ndani. Muundo wake mzuri na mvuto wa asili huipa urembo wa kikaboni unaoboresha hisia za Waswahili. Miamba ya matumbawe haina aina yoyote ya anuwai ya baharini kwani ilikuwa tayari imekufa na kutelekezwa kwa sababu ya kurudi nyuma kwa maji ya bahari kutoka mahali muundo wa matumbawe ulipo.
