Summary
[edit]DescriptionCopthorne Hotel, Newcastle - geograph.org.uk - 1051733.jpg |
English: Copthorne Hotel, Newcastle Copthorne Hotel incorporating the Quay 7 Restaurant on the ground floor.
To the right the path along the north bank of the River Tyne, carries Hadrian's Way, the local name for the traffic-free route along the river through Newcastle. The Way is followed by both Hadrian's Wall National Trail http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/hadrianswall/ and by route 72 of the National Cycle Network (Hadrian's Cycleway http://www.cycle-routes.org/HADRIANSCYCLEWAY/and the Tynemouth branch of the C2C Cycle Route http://www.c2c-guide.co.uk/). A little further off, it is possible to see four of the Tyne bridges NZ2563 . Starting with the nearest: 1. High Level Bridge (concrete two decks, carrying the B1307 on the bottom deck and the railway to Sunderland on the top deck) 2. Low Level Bridge (red and white swing bridge - road) 3. Tyne Bridge (metal arch - A167) and finally 4. Millennium Bridge (slender white arch - pedestrian and cycle) |
