Description |
English: Cast copper alloy composite vessel drop handle fragment with zoomorphic terminal, 14th-16th century. The end of the drop handle bends at right angles and has a crude dog's head rivetted onto the end (the copper alloy rivet passes through the animal's mouth). A cast attachment loop with integral shouldered rivet (now missing) is threaded onto the shaft, behind the animal head. Length 39.38mm, width (across loop) 21.04mm, width (dog's head) 13.49mm, thickness 23.02mm, weight 50.31g. |
