Title
Copper alloy stud with gilding
Description
English: A copper alloy pendant suspension mount, dating to the medieval period. The mount consists of a rectangular plate, which is D shaped in section. There are traces of gilding visible on the rectangular plate. On its underside are two sub-circular section attachment lugs. These lugs are roughly cast. Two pierced semi-circular lugs extend at right angles from the plate; these would originally have held the hinge and pendant. One of the lug piercings is filled with iron corrosion. The mount is 19mm long and 21mm wide.
