Title
Copper alloy ring
Description
English: A copper alloy ring of uncertain date, from the Earliest Iron Age to the post-medieval period (c. 800 BC - AD 1800). It is sub circular in shape, the inside edge being more of an oval shape. One edge of the ring is flat. The ring is flat and rectangular in cross section. The inner edge of the ring is bevelled. The ring has a dark green patina. The outer diameter of the ring measures 27.1 mm, and the inner ring measures 18.7mm by 17.2mm. The ring is 3.5mm thick, and weighs 5.09 g.

Rings such as this would have been numerous and multi-purpose, for hanging keys from a belt for example.
