Title
Copper alloy pin
Description
English: A complete cast copper alloy pin with a slightly hooked end, possibly dating to the Roman period although a more recent date should not be excluded.

The pin is approximately sub-square in cross section. Its widest end has a sub-square flattened edge that is 4.0mm wide by 4.1mm tall. The pin narrows evenly from this end down its entire length to a point (c.0.9mm diameter). The final sixth of the pin closest to the point is smoothly bent so that the point is at about 50 degrees. The object has a smooth light green patina.

The pin is 71.0mm long, 4.1mm thick, and c.12.5mm high in profile. it weighs 3.95 grams.

This pin is similar to other pins on this database suggested to be Roman in date (e.g. BERK-492F10) due to the pressence of decoration. However this lacks such clear diagnostic features such that it may be more recent in date.
