Copper alloy medieval key
Description
English: An incomplete copper alloy key dating to the fifteenth century AD. The fragment comprises part of the hollow, circular section stem. The upper surface of the stem is decorated with incised diagonal lines. The stem extends at right angles to form a rectangular key bit with two large teeth, each separated into two further teeth. The upper and lower surface of the bit is grooved. The key measures 52mm in length, 21mm in width.
