Title
Copper alloy finger ring, crude, inscribed, Postmedieval
Description
English: Postmedieval ring: a cast copper alloy finger ring or rudimentary manufacture, measuring 25.7mm in diameter, with a thickness of 1.3mm, and weighing 2.2g. The ring has a flattened D-shape section, and its exterior is marked by two marginal (circumferential) grooves, and a series of more roughly incised transverse lines and dots, arranged in groups. The copper alloy itself has is a deep green patina. With few diagnostic features, this find is difficult to date precisely, but rings of this general form and simplicity can be broadly dated to between c. AD 1600 and 1800.
