Title
Copper alloy dragonesque brooch
Description
English: Incomplete copper alloy Dragonesque Brooch. The brooch has an 'S' shaped body with one terminal missing. The surface of the brooch is very worn and very little detail remains of the facial features of the animal. The head has a half-rounded knop at the top of the head, perhaps a crest. The animal has a rounded snout and a small recessed dot for the eye. The eye would have been enamelled however none now remains. The body has five sub-rectangular recessed cells which would have once contained enamel. There is a small incomplete pin lug on the reverse of the neck. The metal has a reddish patina.
