Title |
Copper alloy candle stick holder |
||
Description |
English: Fragment of a copper alloy multi-branched latten candlestick. The candlestick has a curved rectangular sectioned shank that tapers until it meets the candle holder. The lower end of the shank is missing but is likely to have joined the main stem at the break. The candle holder is cylindrical and tapers towards the lower end. Similar late 15th/early 16th century multi-branched candlesticks are illustrated in: Brownsword (Brownsword, R, 1985 'English Latten Domestic Candlesticks 1400-1700' Finds Research Group 700-1700 No. 1.) |
