Copper alloy bow brooch
Description
English: An incomplete, copper alloy Roman Thealby Mine type brooch. At the head of the brooch, the wings are cylindrical with end plates pierced by the axis bar. Only a small fragment of the hinged pin survives. The wings have decoration in the form of vertical ribbing. The worn stumps of a head loop are visible.The bow is rectangular in section and tapers slightly towards the foot. Marginal ribs flank and central depression which runs the full length of the bow. The foot of the brooch is missing. The brooch measures 35mm in length; the head measures 21mm in width whilst the bow measures 5mm in width.
