Title
copper alloy Roman T shaped brooch
Description
English: An incomplete copper alloy Roman brooch 'T' shaped brooch 1st to 2nd century AD. The corrosion and damage to the brooch makes it difficult to identify but is probably a Colchester derivative perhaps a headstud brooch. It has short stubby semi-cylindrical wings into which the spring would have nestled but is now missing and may well have been hinged. The bow is now and tapering and only a small fragment of the catchplate remains. The length is 30mm, width 20mm and thickness 16mm.
