Description
English: A Post-Medieval copper-alloy figurative knife-stop, with detail around the full 360 degrees. The broken off remains of an iron blade tang project from below the figure's torso. The artefact weighs 10.71g and has a maximum diameter of 11.05mm narrowing to 6.18mm at the neck. The figure is 21.98mm high with the iron remains projecting a further 5.51mm giving a total length of 27.49mm. This type of of knife stop can be found in various forms from human to animal. A similar example can be seen in Read, B. 2001, p.83 & 89, fig.57, item 662.
