Description

Ball-and-stick model of the unit cell as part of the crystal structure of copper(I) iodide, CuI.

Copper(I) iodide adapts the zinc sulfide (ZnS, sphalerite) arrangement in the crystal structure.

Structure determined by X-ray crystallography reported in J. Am. Chem. Soc. (1922) 44, 30–36 (ICSD entry ICSD 23990 and COD entry 1011239).
