- 728 - annoying man and animals in many Lower Peninsula counties, (Myers, Kidd, Kirch, Sowerby, Wells, June 14), IOWA - Unspecified species continue to be problem. (Iowa Ins. Inf., June 17). MARYLAND - Aedes sollicitans very annoying in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester Counties. (U. Md. , EntT! Dept.) . STATUS OF THE SCREW-WORM (Cochliomyia hominivorax) IN THE SOUTHWEST During the period June 9 - 15, a total of 105 infestations, including one of unknown origin, reported from TEXAS and 35 from NEW MEXICO. Specimens were reported from 46 counties in Texas and 8 counties in New Mexico. Screw-worm was reported for the first time this year from Motley, Cottle, Dickens, Collin, Palo Pinto, Dallas and Crane Counties, Texas. A total of 116,314,250 sterile flies was released during the period June 9 - 15. (Anim. Dis. Erad. Div.).
