English: Cooling Off This is the cooling off stage in the creation of charcoal in Essex Wildlife Trusts Pound Wood http://www.essexwt.org.uk/visitor_centres__nature_reserves/pound_wood_nature_reserve/ The morning after they were put up the chimneys are removed and earth is heaped up around the base to reduce the amount of oxygen that could sustain combustion. The charcoal is removed when all the residual heat has dissipated many hours later. You can now see the 1846955 |
