English: 29 September 2007. Two views of the same fridge-freezer from different angles.
It was dumped five minutes walk from the Council's Reuse & Recycling Centre. Whoever dumped the fridge may also have damaged the tree. It needed one phonecall for the free fridge collection. Despite wide publicity, the number of dumped fridges shows the message is still not getting through. At Bruce Grove's Better Places Group, local resident Laura Berryman proposed free fridge magnets for people's homes, with the slogan: Give Your Fridge A Good Send Off ! Plus - in different languages - the number to call for the free electrical and white goods collection. Using a dumped fridge as a temporary signboard. A sticky label could use icons for both a traditional handset and a mobile - with the contact information. Plus an adapted version of the same slogan - Give YOUR old fridge a BETTER send off! |
