English: "Through a description of its internal decoration in 1975, we know that the painting on the nave's flat vault ceiling included a medallion surrounded by an illusionist balustrade framing two scenes appearing in two levels. Above, there was a depiction of the main cults recommended by the Counter-reform: Christ, the Virgin Mary, angels and cherubim. Below, Saint Francis and Saint Dominic kneeling. Clouds surrounding the figures opened the painting to the sky. It probably dated from the 19th century."--Igrejas e conventos da Bahia, 2011. Português: "Por descrição da decoração interna em 1975 se sabe que a pintura do forro da nave em abóbada abatida tinha pintura em medalhão, com cercadura de balaustrada ilusionista, cercando duas cenas que se apresentavam em dois níveis. Na parte superior havia a representação dos principais cultos recomendados pela Contrarreforma: Cristo, a Virgem Maria, anjos e querubins. Na parte inferior, São Francisco e São Domingos ajoelhados. Nuvens que cercavam as figuras abriam o quadro para o céu. Datava provavelmente do século XIX."--Igrejas e conventos da Bahia, 2011.
