Description

Construction work on The Convention Centre, Dublin, is progressing rapidly. The building is very quickly becoming the iconic structure it was designed to be, on the northern banks of the River Liffey. The construction of the cylindrical steel Atrium is complete, as is the massive task of glazing the Atrium - 475 panels of glass were installed during October and November 2008. Work on the stone cladding on the building exterior is progressing well with phase 3 now complete on the east and west elevation. Work on the southern elevation, either side of the Atrium is well underway.

Mechanical and electrical installations are at second fix stage in the basement levels, and the first fix is well underway on all other levels. In the Auditorium, the acoustic walls are almost complete and plaster rendering is underway.
