Summary
[edit]DescriptionControl Tower Replica @ Hopewell Junction CNE Depot.jpg |
English: Replica of interlocking tower S-196 at the Hopewell Junction Central New England Railway Depot as seen from along the Maybrook Trailway in Hopewell Junction, New York. Hopewell Junction Depot originally served the Newburgh, Dutchess and Connecticut Railroad, the New York and New England Railroad and Dutchess County Railroad, all three of which became part of the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, and assigned under their subsidiary known as the Central New England Railway from 1899 to 1927. The tower was demolished after the ND&C was abandoned north of this junction (to the left), and was rebuilt with public restrooms, vending machines, and a control room on the second floor. Behind the tower is the Bernie Rudberg Pavilion, which was built in 2019.
