Contretype d'une photolithographie représentant Gustave Courbet photographié par Carjat. Dépôt légal du 13 septembre 1866. Gustave Courbet assis de face. Son visage est légèrement tourné, on voit son profil gauche. Il est moustachu et barbu. Ses mains sont croisées. Commentaire historique:

Gustave Courbet (1819-1877). Peintre. Après la révolution de 1848, il accomplit dans la peinture une révolution analogue à celle de la littérature, qui remplaça le culte de l'idéal par un grand réalisme.
