Description

Great Western Railway's 1L86 1629 Swansea to London Paddington arrives at Cardiff Central. Power car 43042 leads the train, with 43175 bringing up the rear. Meanwhile in the adjacent platform GWR's 1F29 1730 Portsmouth Harbour service - formed of Class 158 DMU 158958 waits departure time.

Both trains date from the British Rail era - High Speed Trains were built by British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) between 1975 and 1982, while the Class 158 were constructed by the same company between 1989 and 1992.
